Should I get a performance radiator for my Mustang GT which is a 96 model when I get the underdrive pulleys?Should I get a performance radiator for my Mustang GT which is a 96 model when I get the underdrive pulleys? I heard that the pulleys will cause your engine to overheat without a high performance radiator which a Mishimoto one could run just under $300. Then I heard that there is no need for one. I will get one anyway eventually but I would like to have some fun first. If your using your air on hot day sitting in traffic it will run hot. I had to buy a 4 core radiator to keep my Mustang managable. Also if you do not drive a lot you could have issues with a dead battery as at idle it is barely charging. those where the problems i had, but as long you know the problems you can correct them. How do I know if my license is suspended? So here's the story. I live in NJ, and am licensed in NJ as well. I got an underage drinking citation in PA, where I go to school. When I went to court to pay the fines and everything, the judge told me that my license would be suspended for 3 months. My lawyer told me that only PA would know of the suspension and that I would get a letter in the mail from Penn Dot confirming the suspension. However, its been a month since my trial with the judge, and no such letter has arrived at either my school mailbox or at my home in NJ. Suzuki . How to Remove the Rear View Mirror in an ExplorerThe rear view mirror in a Ford Explorer is designed to provide the driver with a wide-angle view of the road behind the vehicle. This mirror contains a darkening system that can be turned on or off by flipping a switch on the bottom of the mirror. This darkening system reduces the glare from the headlights of other vehicles in nighttime conditions. The mirror is attached with a set screw to a small metal tab on the windshield. Replacement rear view mirrors are available from automotive salvage yards, auto parts stores and licensed Ford dealerships. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Torx screwdriver set Step by Step : 1 Shut off the engine and place the transmission in park or first gear (manual). Set the parking brake. 2 Locate the set screw that holds the mirror to the metal tab on the windshield. The set screw is located just above the pivot point on the rear view mirror. 3 Remove the set screw with a torx screwdriver. 4 Slide the mirror toward the roof and off the metal tab.
Suzuki . How Do I Install Auto Sideview Mirrors? Most late model domestic and import cars and trucks use very similar sideview mirrors. This makes the method for replacing them almost identical across brands and models. The process for replacing sideview mirrors requires only basic hand tools and a minimal time investment. This task does not require an in-depth knowledge of automobile repair. Completing this task yourself is a great way to save money because you can avoid taking your car to the dealership for repair. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Socket Set Step by Step : 1 Open the door of the vehicle and roll down the window. Position yourself between the door and the seat of the vehicle. This position allows you to remove the nuts that secure the mirror to the inside of the door and hold the mirror located on the outside of the door. 2 Locate the cover that hides the mounting nuts and the mirror wiring harness (if your car is so equipped.) The mirror attaches to the outside of the door, directly in front of the side window. The cover is located inside the door, opposite the mirror. The cover attaches to the plastic door panel. To remove the cover, pull on it with your finger until it pops off the door panel. No tools are needed. 3 Locate the wiring harness for the mirror and disconnect the wiring harness connector. Usually, the connector has a small plastic tab in the center that acts like a lock. Lift up on the tab and separate the two ends of the connector. If your mirrors are not powered, skip this step. 4 Locate the three nuts that were hidden behind the cover. The nuts are secured to three threaded posts molded into the mirror housing. Remove the nuts with a socket and ratchet. Be careful not to drop the nuts inside the door. If you drop one inside the door, you will have to remove the entire door panel to reach the nut. Make sure you hold the mirror with one hand while you remove the last nut. This keeps the mirror from falling out of the door. 5 Gently pull the mirror out of the door. The threaded posts can get caught on the holes in the door's sheet metal and chip the paint. Slide the studs of the new mirror through the door. Hold the mirror in place and thread the nuts onto the threaded posts with your fingers. Tighten the nuts with the socket. 6 Reconnect the wiring harness by pushing the two connectors together. If the harness has a locking tab, make sure you push it down. This prevents the harness from coming apart in the future. 7 Place the cover back onto the door panel and press it into place with your hands. Tips & Warnings Replacement mirrors are obtainable from automotive dealerships that sell your brand of vehicle. Many auto part stores can also order replacement mirrors for you. *The choke only limits the air supply; it doesn't prevent all the air from coming in. The resulting fuel/air mixture is richer than the stuff you usually drive on, but the choke returns to normal after the car warms up. )12 Part II: What Makes It Go? Automatic chokes Cars used to have manual chokes, which you controlled by a knob on the dashboard. Today, most cars have automatic chokes that work by means of a spring that coils and uncoils in response to the amount of heat present. This spring eventually causes the butterfly valve to open and close. If you have an automatic choke, chances are that it's controlled by a thermostat located on the outside of the carburetor, either at the top of Butterfly valve Choke thermostat 304

The first type looks like a little round cap with little arrows on it that say "Lean" and "Rich." By turning this knob, you can adjust the proportion of air that's allowed into the carburetor barrel past the butterfly. The second type (see the figure below) uses a rod attached to the thermostat to make the butterfly open and close. Fortips on checking and adjusting the choke, see Chapter 13. \ Rod to thermostatic coil The accelerator pump Have you ever wondered what makes your car speed up when you step on the gas pedal? It's a very simple device called an accelerator pump — so unsophisticated that you'd think the inventor would have been embarrassed to suggest such a gadget. When you step on the gas pedal to accelerate, a rod connecting the pedal to a little lever on the outside of the carburetor pushes on a little piston inside the carburetor, which squirts a little extra fuel into the venturi. That extra fuel creates a richer fuel/air mixture, which explodes .Chapter 6: The Fuel System: The Heart and Lungs of Your Car / / •? with a bigger bang in your cylinders, giving ypur car that extra push called acceleration. If your car hesitates when you step on the gas, your accelerator pump may not be working properly. Chapter 13 has instructions for checking and adjusting your accelerator pump. The throttle Suzuki . Why is your car steaming but not running hot?
GMC 1500 Regular Cab. * The throttle controls the amounts of fuel and air that come into the carburetor (refer to Figure 6-5). The more air, the higher the vacuum in the venturi. The greater the vacuum in the venturi, the more fuel is drawn out of the float bowl and mixed with the air. The richer the fuel/air mixture, the faster the car goes At high speeds, the throttle is wide open to allow a lot of air to come into the carburetor. At low speeds, the throttle closes so that less air can get in. The big lever on the outside of the carburetor (see Figure 6-6) is the throttle arm. It's attached to the gas pedal and controls the throttle, which is a butterfly device (very much like the butterfly valve) located at the bottom of the carburetor, where it joins the intake manifold. Figure 6-6: The throttle arm on the outside of the carburetor. Part II: What Makes It Go?. The idle speed screvO The idle speed screw is a little screw located at the bottom of your carbure tor, on the outside, right near the throttle. It keeps the throttle from closing completely when your foot is off the gas pedal and the car is idling. (Idling is what the car does when it just sits there humming to itself without moving. By turning this screw, you can determine how rich the fuel/air mixture is. If you adjust it properly, you can get maximum engine performance and still save fuel. A carburetor with more than one barrel can have more than one idle mixture screw. The screw (or screws) may reside in a variety of places, depending on your vehicle. Figures 6-3 and 6-7 show a couple of possible locations. You can identify an idle mixture screw by the fact that, if you turn it counterclockwise, the end of the screw comes out of the carburetor. However, because of state .Chapter 6: The Fuel System: The Heart and Lungs of Your Car and federal smog standards, most car manufacturers place limiter caps on the idle mixture screws or hide them behind metal plugs to prevent owners from adjusting them. If the idle mixture screw(s) on your vehicle are adjustable, you can find instructions for adjusting them in Chapter 13. The idle air bleed screw Some cars don't have an idle speed screw. Instead, they have an idle air bleed screw (or idle air adjusting screw, as it is sometimes called) that determines how much extra air is allowed to come in when the throttle is closed. When the throttle is closed during idling, some air should still come through to prevent the formation of carbon and gum deposits that tend to collect around the throttle area. By turning this screw clockwise, you can decrease the amount of air that gets in and slow down your idle. By turning it counterclockwise, you get more air and more idle speed. Air bleed screws are usually found on Lincolns, Cadillacs, and other big cars. Chapter 13 tells you how to adjust the idle air bleed screw. The idle stop solenoid Suzuki .
